He is a trained Radiation Oncologist and a specialist in Palliative Medicine. He has done fellowships in oncology and palliative medicine in the US, UK and France.
Dr Akhileswaran has presented papers and posters in conferences worldwide and has also published his work in medical journals. He is actively involved in training doctors, nurses, medical social workers, medical and nursing students, and volunteers. He also co-chairs the Manpower Council and Leadership Task Force for the Agency for Integrated Care, Ministry of Health, Singapore.
Dr Akhileswaran is the current Chairman of Singapore Hospice Council, the umbrella body for all hospice and palliative care services in Singapore. In this role, he was involved in formulating the National Strategy for Palliative Care, which was announced in 2011, and is now member of the National Palliative Care Standards Committee.

Dr. Subathra Muthukumaran has dedicated her service to give good quality palliative care to patients, to establish ‘Lakshmi Institute of Palliative Medicine’, to make palliative care accessible to all by training and helping doctors start centres and to build a network of volunteers.
She has worked in various capacities as consultant and honorary consultant in Palliative Medicine, Lakshmi Pain and Palliative Care Clinic, CSI Rainy Hospital, and Port Trust Hospital, Chennai.
Lakshmi Pain and Palliative Care Clinic has been conducting ‘IAPC Certificate Course in Palliative Care’ since 2008. As the course coordinator for the centre she has been the faculty for the organization. She also holds the post of Faculty at Sudharshana Palliative care centre at Trichy, Cancer Institute, Adyar, Madras Medical College and other nursing organizations. Fr. Dr. M.K. George SJ Ph.d is currently the director of Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, Research Guide. University of Kerela and Editor at the Rajagiri Journal of Social Development. Fr.Dr. M.K George has completed his M.A in Andragogy from the University of Madras, M.A in Sociology from the University of Kerela. He completed his Ph.D (Education-Interdisciplinary- Sociology from the University of Pune. He has also completed a distance programme in Family Therapy (U.S.A).
Fr.Dr. M.K George worked as a Faculty and honorary Director, Loyola Extension Services :1986-2009, Faculty, Sociology Dept. Loyola colelge of social sciences. He was the princpal of Loyola College of Social Sciences from 2004 to 2008.

Dr.Umesh Samuel was a University Rank holder in MSW and has the credit of having received the first PhD degree awarded from Bharathidasan University in Social Work Discipline in 1995. He has over 26 years of teaching experience for MSW and 19 years for MBA, 15 years of M.Phil and 17 years of PhD. He has published more than 72 research articles in the refereed journals of International and national repute. He is a recipient of many awards like Tamilnadu State Award for Best NSS officer (1998), Bharathidasan University Best NSS officer Award (2000) and Best Researcher Award twice (2009 & 2013) . He also received Best Faculty Award 2013 for Arts &Humanities Stream instituted by Nehru Group of Institutions and received a cash award of Rs 10,000 /= Dr. A. Umesh Samuel Jebaseelan As a Research Advisor/Guide for guiding research work leading to the award of PhD degree, he had to his credit of 20 candidates awarded PhD degree in Social Work (one in Management) and more than 39 candidates awarded for M.Phil Degree.He had been to Liverpool Hope University, UK twice to deliver lectures to the students of Social Work discipline. He served as a Project Lead , DelPHE Project, Sponsored by British Council –a collaborative research Project between Bishop Heber College, Stella Maris college, Chennai ,Madras Christian College, Chennai and Liverpool Hope University, UK. Serving as Honorary Project Director for Institute for Applied Social Sciences - a UK based research Institute since 2008 `Serving as a SSR Hon. Project Director for the Global Fund to fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria round 7 –An International funded Project to train HIV Counsellors in Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Kerala and received a grant of Rs 1. 2 Croes from the Global Fund. He is recognized as a Fellow Faculty for the Management studies (HR specialization) in Wolver Hampton University, UK.
Ramu K is a distinguished Social Worker in the Palliative Care Unit of Christian Medical College, Vellore. He has secured a DCHM ( Diploma in Community Health Management) along with an M.A in Sociology. He has had 17 years of experience as a social worker Including Palliative Care (ten years),Leprosy, ophthalmology and community organizing.A survey of the domiciliary situation of urban and rural patients of a palliative care in south India- India Journal of Palliative Care 2008, Vol. 14, Issue 2. He has presented Posters on different topics in the IAPCCON at Malapuram, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Trichy, U.P., Bangalore and going to present in Ramu K Bhuvaneswar- 2014.
Mrs.J.P. Saulina Arnold having experience for more than 36 yrs in the field of health and development, is known for values such as Transparency, simplicity, Equality, inclusive and human rights .She has served as Consultant, Administrator, Trainer, Preparing Modules and training Hand books, Writer, Editor, Translator and Evaluator
She has been in Administration and management of Projects on health and development (Served as Executive Director of TNVHA for23 years; managed projects earlier also), completed more than 53 projects in near all districts. With Experience and Ability has served as consultant in various committees and action, Health, Women/Gender/HIV/AIDS and related. She is an evaluator, trainer, to produce training manuals, after need assessment and writing syllabus ( Have produced more than 15 training manuals) and capacity building at all levels.
She has got extensive Experience in working with Different departments of Governments, In Centre and State. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Women & Children, Department of Social Defense; Directorate Public Health and Preventive Medicine, TN; Health System of TN; Departments of Disease control; Census department; Social Defense; NRHM; DAPCU /TANSACS.
Prof. Vijay Viswanathan is the Head of WHO Collaborating Centre for Research, Education and Training in Diabetes. He is also the MD in Internal Medicine and was awarded Gold medal in final MD examination. He has also been awarded Ph.D. in Medicine by Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Madras on the study of Diabetic Nephropathy in Type 2 Diabetes. He Has published over 150 original articles in peer reviewed International and National journals especially on Diabetic kidney diseases and Prevention of foot Amputation in Diabetes. He has organized 5 International Conferences on diabetic foot and has trained over 2000 physicians in preventing foot amputation related to diabetes. He conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians,London / Glasgow in 2009 / 2010. He has been Honoured Prof. Vijay Viswanathan by the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University as Adjunct Professor in 2010. He is the Managing Director member of National Governing Body of the Association of Physicians of India and the M.V. Hospital for Diabetes Secretary of the Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI).He has conferred the ‘Best Doctor Award’ from the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University. The American Diabetes Association conferred the Vivian Fonseca Scholar Award for the first time to him for his study on Diabetes and Tuberculosis and he received this honour at the Association's 73rd Scientific Sessions, which took place from June 21-25, 2013 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, USA.
